Ciasa Dolomites
San Vigilio is a touristic centre with about 1,500 inhabitants situated in the middle of the Dolomites at 1,201 m above sea level. The idyllic village of San Vigilio is very popular with lovers of nature, culture and sport activities. In San Vigilio we speak Ladin. Ladin is a language developed from the mixing of Roman language with Rhaetic culture and survived in the Dolomites throughout the centuries up to modern times. “Bengnüs” in Ladin means welcome and “Ciasa” house/home. The Ladin customs and traditions will surround you during your stay, as well as the Ladin cuisine, made of genuine dishes and characterised by authentic flavours.
The house “Dolomites” is situated in the centre of San Vigilio, in the Catarina Lanz Street n. 14. In the same building there is a sport shop, in winter a ski rental. Close by there are the post office, a bank, shops, bars and many restaurants. The apartments are built in the traditional style with wood furniture and panelling and they are fully equipped. Bed linen and towels are provided. All the apartments have terrestrial and satellite TV, as well as Wi-Fi. Private parking is located on the side and behind the house.
Summer
In 2009 the Nature Park Fanes-Senes-Braies (it is located in the hinterland of San Vigilio) was added into the prestigious list of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage.
San Vigilio is a touristic centre that offers countless opportunities for excursions and walks, especially in the above mentioned nature park.
Winter
Directly from the village of San Vigilio depart the ski lifts of Plan de Corones (Kronplatz), with the most modern ropeways of Europe and over 120 km of ski slopes for children, beginners and experienced skiers. The ski-schools and several skiing equipment rentals are located in the centre of the village. The Skibus, with stop in front of the house, will take you directly to the ski slopes.
For those who prefer cross-country-skiing, San Vigilio offers a ski track of 12 km. It starts in the Fanes Street and ends in the Alpine Guesthouse “Pederü”. San Vigilio also has several sledge slopes. Adults and especially children enjoy them a lot.
